Credelio Quattro comes in five dosages for dogs ranging in weight from 3.3 to 100 pounds.
Elanco Animal Health is planning the 2025 release of newly approved Credelio Quattro, a monthly chewable tablet formulated to protect against six canine parasites.
The parasiticide, which earned U.S. Food and Drug Administration authorization, contains four active ingredients: lotilaner, moxidectin, praziquantel and pyrantel. Together, they fight fleas, ticks, heartworms, roundworms, hookworms and tapeworms, according to Elanco.
The beef-flavored chewable is indicated for dogs ages 8 weeks or older and weighing at least 3.3 pounds.
Sales are expected to begin in the first quarter of 2025.
“We’re bringing veterinarians and pet owners the broadest parasite protection by covering six types of parasites in a monthly chewable tablet,” said Jeff Simmons, Elanco Animal Health’s president and CEO. “As pets have become such an integral part of the family, we’re pleased to offer veterinarians and pet owners a first-of-its-kind solution that protects against some of the most dangerous parasites that can spread disease to both pets and people.”
According to Elanco, Credelio Quattro starts to kill ticks and fleas within four hours and kills 99% of fleas within eight hours.
Elanco advises veterinarians to test dogs for existing heartworm infections before administering Credelio Quattro and using caution in dogs with a history of seizures or neurologic disorders.
The new product arrives nearly six years after Elanco’s release of Credelio (lotilaner), a chewable tablet formulated to kill ticks and fleas.
